Please bare in mind that my review is in reflection of my visit during Birmingham Pride 2026. I absolutely enjoyed my visit to Missing Bar. The atmosphere inside and out was electric! My boyfried and I saw many a cabaret performance at the bar during our visit, every act was hysterical, had a fantastic presence and had the crowd getting involved. The bar staff were polite, efficient and may I add a diverse bunch of people (which is nice to see that they're emoloyed on their skillset and not the usual trope of barstaff have to look a certain way). I did not use the toilet facilities during my visit. I was unable to confirm if they do food or not. The guest WIFI was amazing and the aircon was a lifesaver in the heat.
Went to Missing Bar for my Christmas Wirk outing and lost my new Jacket, with no hope of getting it back, called the bar the next day, spoke with Ryan, who said that he had "put it up" for me. Didn't have a chance to collect as I live miles away, returned yesterday (5 months later) Ryan handed me my jacket. I have never been anywhere, lost something and had it returned a day later, let alone 5 months. A fun, safe, honest abd trustworthy place to go. You have my vote!!
One of Birmingham's oldest gay bars, I attended a private event in the room above the pub one evening, but sat in the bar downstairs for a while as I arrived really early for the event. All the bar staff were really friendly, partly because I was game to try a double smokey bacon and horseradish gin n tonic which caused some hilarity:) it wasnt dire, but I only had one! Just had to be tried when I saw it!
Popped for a few drinks after Chinatown New year festival. Good section of on tap and alcohol free items. Really friendly bar staff who were happy to give my partner access to the accessible loo (they hold a key behind the bar). Good atmosphere/ vibe, regulars seems nice and the outdoor seating would be a great sunning spot in good weather.
I've been to missing bar on a few occasions with my son. Although a good enough atmosphere I've witness drug taking and selling. So what use are the security guards. Cannabis has a distinctive smell, yet security noses must be blocked. Some men have no respect for other couples. My son and his new partner have had issues with men approaching them and flirting with my son or his partner when they are sat on each others laps. I still go there but to be honest what I see. I hate the place. I've reported to management drugs being sold in the toilets. To date . It's not been addressed. This issue puts people at risk. You cannot have people under the influence of drugs in what is supposed to be a safe space. I don't drink alcohol but I do go out with my son. I observe. And I see everything. I would not call missing bar a safe space. If I could stop my son going there I would on a heart beat.
