Nellie's Sports Bar

I've only been to Nellie's 4 times & 2 of those times were the most recent with my birthday being one of them. London is such a doll & sweetheart. She made sure I was good & had fun AND she even walked me up the steps to make sure I didn't fall or trip lol because those stairs are steep. I came in alone so she made sure I felt safe & introduced me to some of the others there. I absolutely love that girl for the hospitality she showed me that night. I gave Nellie's a break in the past but I'm about to put that place BACK on my roster since I know she is there now. Thank you for a wonderful birthday night, Nellie's! & Thank you London ❤️

After attending Godfrey’s Drag Brunch in Richmond, I expected a fun, lively experience—but this was a huge disappointment. Two drinks upstairs cost over $50—while downstairs drinks were far cheaper ($10–$15). The buffet didn’t start until an hour after we arrived, and our server only acknowledged us with the occasional “you good?” And then they’d walk away before we could say boo. The “show” had maybe two actual drag performances; most of the time performers just walked around. There was even a man performing as a man who did nothing but solicit tips, which was outrageous. What was supposed to be a two-hour brunch dragged on for three. Overpriced, poorly run, and underwhelming.

After Thurst, I made my way to Nellie’s and the energy shifted in the best way. The rainbow mural outside already sets the tone; it feels iconic before you even step in. Inside? High energy, packed, and pure joy. This is the kind of space where strangers turn into friends in minutes. The music was upbeat, the crowd was diverse and expressive, and everyone just seemed genuinely happy to be there. I met some amazing people and had those spontaneous conversations that make a trip unforgettable. It’s lively without feeling overwhelming; just celebration, laughter, and good vibes flowing through the room. If you’re in DC and want a space that feels inclusive, energetic, and unapologetically fun, Nellie’s delivers. Two different vibes in one night; both beautiful in their own way.

Great music, staff, and drag brunch! We came on a Saturday night and had so much fun, we just had to return the next day to check out their drag brunch…and we are so happy we did! The queens not only served face, body, and looks - they were servers at the brunch! They were SO fun and did a phenomenal job taking care of everyone, keeping the drinks coming, the food line moving, and keeping us laughing. The food was delicious! When I read about it the night before, I thought it sounded good, but you never know…I know now - YUM! There was great variety, so I think there’s something for everyone. At the show, the queens (and a prince) gave great, fun, and engaging performances. They had the crowd rolling with laughter at some parts. We had an awesome time, and will definitely come back next time we’re in DC. We highly recommend. Oh, and when we went on a tour of the US Capitol, we told one of the staff we went to Nellie’s for drag brunch, and they said they love Nellie’s and the drag shows - YASSSSSSS!

My first time here and I can truly say that it was an experience! Let me start with the service - excellent!!!! The performers - I fell in deep like I just met my future best friends!!!! Now the topping on the cake the food!!! Can I just say AMAZING!!! It was so good I wish I could have gotten a tray to bring some home!!! Parking is an issue so I got a ride there and ubered home due to limited street parking. But let me tell you I will be back for my birthday!!!!
