Was here this past weekend with some friends for the dj event and it was very fun!!! The main reason I’m writing this is because it was hands down the best service at any bar/club venue I’ve experienced. One of my friends ended up very down for the count and the bouncer, Joey, was so amazing, helpful, and kind throughout the whole thing. I feel like it’s pretty rare to be too drunk at a bar and get support rather than kicked out. She brought us a blanket, soda, water, and shut down general street noise pretty efficiently. Huge shout-out to Joey and all the DJs that played that night!!!

As You Are is more than a bar. It is a space. From the moment we walked in, it felt welcoming, inclusive, and safe in a way that you don’t always find. As a women’s sports bar, it carries that energy of community and connection, and you feel it immediately. We had great drinks, played Phase 10, and spent time just being present and connected, not just with each other, but with the broader community around us. There’s something really special about being in a space where you can fully relax and just exist as you are. It reminded me a lot of places like SET and The 99er, where the focus isn’t just on the game or the food, but on creating an environment where people feel like they belong. One small note, we were hoping to grab some merch or stickers and were a little bummed they weren’t available in the space. That said, it’s easy to understand why. Every bit of the space is clearly dedicated to community and experience first, and you can still grab swag online if you’re looking to take a piece of it home. If you’re looking for a place that combines great energy, inclusivity, and a true sense of belonging, this is it.

I finally tried As You Are and it was great! It’s a the perfect, versatile third space from chill cafe that transitions to bar/club on evenings and weekends. It’s not just a queer bar/cafe. Truly welcoming to all. I loved the vibe and wish I’d come sooner. Solid bar food with vegan and gluten free options. The nachos were amazing! Our book club relocated here last night and we decided we will now make this our regular spot. But don’t let us middle-age book nerds feel like this place isn’t a vibe. As we were filing out around 9:30 a large group of young folks were coming in to keep their night going. I love the versatility and atmosphere. I’m glad this place made it and hope to see them stick around. I look forward to trying those weekend brunch as well!

Any bar that hosts a Survivor premiere party is good in my book! It shows that they are committed to safe spaces for different communities. Along Barracks Row, as you are is in a larger building with two floors. The top floor is where they have events. The staff are friendly and often host regular events for the community. They have food and an extensive drink list.
