This is literally the first review I've ever posted but the experience that I had last night was just awful. Was asked to leave my jacket at coatcheck, which I was not expecting. I asked if it was possible to keep it since I was not comfortable, they let me know that they understood but would not be possible that night, which I get, security measures and all. Went downstairs to give my jacket and the staff was just so mean the minute I came down... Went behind the customer that was paying and the employee took one look at me and rudely told me to let the customer before me pay which... was it not what I was doing? I was literally waiting behind them, was so confused by his reaction. The rest of the interaction was just as curt and by the time the show ended and I had to come back to get my coat, both employees could not even deign to look at me and when I gave my ticket, the staff purposely gave my coat to the person besides me (who was also very confused by that)... Expected much better from a queer and what I thought should be a safe space, felt so bad I could not even fully enjoy the show the Queens put out (which was honestly so great, much love to all the queens that night!!!). Really disappointed, absolutely would not recommend, Le Cocktail for the win though, always a 5 stars experience with them
forcible coat check even though they had us waiting outside freezing an hour after doors were meant to open & then we were met with an almost stereotypical level of attitude at said obligatory coat check for taking more than 30 seconds to get our cash out. as lesbians this vibe at gay spaces is getting so tired. the queens were fabulous though because of course they were!
Lady Gaga's show is a true spectacle and of a very high standard; I enjoyed it a lot. Being straight, I had many doubts since it was my first time going to a place like Madoo, but I felt safe and comfortable, and the energy of the people was contagious.
Honestly, Yasmine from the server made our first night in Montreal truly special. She took exceptional care of us. The Queens and the show were incredible. We were visiting from Austin, Texas. We definitely plan to return. Thank you, Yasmine! ❤️
As much as I love and support the drag community, and the shows are great (so is the staff), there is much room for improvement: the cabaret has no food at all, not even easy-to-provide snacks, such as peanuts or fries (or even chips). Sometimes, they take away all the seats, like tonight, and to be waiting for more than an hour for a 3-hour show... it can be somewhat uncomfortable (especially with a ticket costing beyond 40 $ on a Sunday). Also, we are forced to check our coats and the place is super cold indoors. Hoping it will become better in the future. Thanks.
