Okay… where do I even begin. The vibe? Very young, very trying, and just a little too in love with itself. You know when a place thinks it’s iconic… but no one told the guests? Yeah. That. There’s a fine line between confident and pretentious, and somehow CC Blooms pole-vaulted right over it. The energy was giving “you can sit with us… but only if we approve your outfit, your drink order, and your entire personality.” And then… the moment. A man actively trying to get people kicked out because they were sitting in his seat. HIS. SEAT. Not a reserved sign, not staff intervention, just pure main character energy in the wild. I genuinely didn’t know whether to laugh or applaud the commitment to chaos. Instead of fun chaos, though, it just felt… uncomfortable. Like everyone was performing instead of actually enjoying themselves. Honestly, it’s a shame, because you want a place like this to feel welcoming and alive. But instead, it felt like a social audition no one asked for. The total: more attitude than atmosphere, more ego than enjoyment. Would I go back? Not unless I’m booking his seat in advance.

Solo visitor to here and staff were all lovely (dont get why other reviews have said otherwise) beautiful premises..clean toilets. I have found my new favourite cocktail here (millionaires mojito...beautiful) great tunes..good vibe...really clean.if im ever up this way again il be back! And convenient location next to the playhouse

While I am not part of the LGBT community, I wanted a quick drink on my way home after a show at the theatre and this place is pretty much next door. So I decided to hop in. This place does not scream “gay bar/nightclub” and is all quite classy with dim lighting and everything colour coordinated. It was a Tuesday night, so not that busy. A few people sat at the bar talking to the server and a group of people on the sofas near the door. There was also couple of guys at one of the higher tables, but plenty of space to sit elsewhere. The bar server was friendly and while originally adding the wrong mixer to my drink, was apologetic and immediately offered to replace it. Prices for a single vodka and mixer were around £4. So on par with Edinburgh bar prices. I sat on my own in one of the booths, and didn’t really get chatting to anyone so just had my drink. I was kind of hoping maybe someone would talk to me like at my own local, but didn’t really happen. On my way out I said goodbye to the server and they were again friendly enough but straight back chatting to the other customers sitting at the bar. I’m not sure I’d go again on my own as I feel like everybody here knows each other and it was all a bit lonely. It didn’t feel super welcoming to newbies. But I’d maybe take a friend if in the area and had no complaints with the drink. There also wasn’t any really loud music which was a plus in my eyes. 4/5

Staff are always welcoming and very attentive. I wanted to try the new menu following the recent refurb. Pizza was tasty but base was a little thick, quility products used. Sarter arrived after the main, but equally great flavour, acutally bon bons were really tasty! Menu advised the haggis bon bons came with brown sauce (bit weird in my opinion) requested if it was possible to have with the peppercorn sauce and was delighted this was possible. Staff asked if I would like cutlery and napkins. Personally feel this is a given but appreciate may want to reduce waste. 🍸Leith gin with elderflower tonic. Overall tasty 😋

I'm amazed by the reviews stating friendly. We didn't find any of the staff welcoming. Cute place, but pretentious. We went up to bar to order & was advised by bartender someone would be sent to our table. Order taken and brought to us. Again, friendliness wasn't observed. Credit card only.
