Funny Girls - Blackpool Show

Visited last night to watch the spring fling show . Absolutely amazing, the choreography and atmosphere was just fantastic. Been 5-6 times and deffo the best show I’ve seen!

Me and a large group of my friends went last night for my birthday. Was absolutely amazing from the get go. We were looked after by the photographer for a while and they took a crackling photo of us all (below) and was just a really fun, nice person! Show (spring show) was amazing, Carmen the host was hilarious. Music in-between acts was soooo fun as well. Always the best time at FG, cant wait to go back! 💖💖💖 love love love

I’ve been coming to FunnyGirls for years and I genuinely love the place, so I’m writing this as constructive feedback rather than criticism. I came on a Friday night expecting big crowds and a lively atmosphere, but sadly there were maybe around 40 people or fewer in the theatre, with lots of empty seats. It did take away a bit from the atmosphere, which is a shame because the venue itself still looks lovely. One thing I did notice was that the toilets could do with some attention compared to the rest of the venue. Also, the bar staff seemed to spend quite a bit of time standing near the front of the stage and chatting it gave the impression that they were judging the room rather than engaging with guests, when i got a drink there was no warmth atall. Some of the waiting and bar staff also looked quite unhappy or tired — which is understandable in such a busy job — but it did come across a bit miserable for what should feel like a vibrant theatre experience. On the positive side, Carmen was absolutely lovely and stunning. She really has the spark that FunnyGirls needs and brought great energy to the night such an assett and is a real match to zoe. The photo guy and the usherette who passed by were also friendly and spoke to guests, which was appreciated as i was solo. For me, FunnyGirls hasn’t quite felt the same since Betty and Zoe left, and the show might benefit from a slightly different energy. The Spring Show in particular could perhaps include more uplifting numbers. At times it felt a bit dark in tone and I didnt know these as iv not seen les mis , and the transitions between numbers didn’t always flow — for example going from Les Misérables to a beach-themed routine felt a little disconnected. I really appreciate how hard the performers and team work, and I say this as someone who wants the venue to keep thriving. Maybe mixing in more upbeat pop routines could help lift the atmosphere — artists like Shirley Bassey, Jade, Doja Cat, or Lady Gaga and many more familiar routines from well known musicals could really get the party going and bring that big weekend energy as it was too slow. I did leave feeling underwhelmed if im honest. I’ll always have a soft spot for FunnyGirls and I hope it continues to succeed for many years to come.

Our server on Jan. 26th was Jess who couldn’t do enough to make sure us and others in our section never had an empty glass in front of us or that we needed anything to enhance our experience. The show was phenomenal with an action packed stage and comedy accompanied by a talented display from all the stars at the forefront. Don’t over think it! Just book it and ye won’t be disappointed!!

We went to the Christmas show on 3rd December. This was the first time we have been to Funny Girls and we had the best night ever! We booked the 2 seater table option last minute and were looked after by Jessica, she was AMAZINGGG! Really helpful and made sure we had everything we needed and we had a lovely chat at the end. The show itself was brilliant! All the team put on a fantastic performance with so many stand out moments. You can see a lot of hard work has gone into this. CeCe and Ritzy had us in absolute stitches all night! We’re planning on coming back and seeing the show again with friends we loved it so much! Definitely worth the price for a full night of entertainment. You have to go experience it for yourself!! We’re definitely going to make it a regular thing, we can’t wait to come back for another show soon! 🙌 ❤️
