Warning: be careful with this place. Even though it is not very crowded, there are pickpockets operating inside. Yesterday (Sunday) I was robbed: someone took my chain without me realizing it. Do not enter with valuables, and watch your belongings at all times.

I really really love AMS. So much so that we’ve been back 2x in a 6mo period and will continue to come back. Having visited many Eagles around the world I had never had what happened Sunday night March 1 happen at any other Eagle bar or any other bar for that matter. During my two visits I’ve never seen the Eagle very busy so our group has always just mingled and had conversations over drinks. Well this particular night, the bartender decided to walk to the “dance floor” area(just next to the Amsterdam Eagle signage on the floor) and tell us we were too loud. It shocked all 3 of us as this has never happened in a bar where’s theres loud music and others talking. It was so obvious that another patron walked over and asked us did that really just happen. Did he really do that. Needless to say we finished our drink and vowed to never return to the Eagle AMS again if that’s how we expect we’ll be treated. So Monday, March 2nd we decided to go out again & Low & behold we walk into DDs and we enter to see the same bartender from the Eagle working the door, coat check and bartending. We literally wanted to hit the door and turn around and go else where. His face showed as much shock as our faces. We stayed & had A DRINK to not make it so obvious that we were not interested in being serviced by him. During that exchange his attitude was not pleasant. I mistakenly asked for a Vodka Tito’s and he replied, i don’t know what that is. My friend ordered a beer in which they were out of that night. He asked my friend, I don’t have that tonight what other kind of beer do you want”. My friend replied, “what other beers do you have” to which he replied “what beer do you want” & my friend replied with the same response bc literally we’re all still pissed about the night before. He finally turned around and pointed at the beer options to which he could have done the first time. So while we laughed & talked & enjoyed our drink at DDs every time we look over he'd be at the bar looking in our direction with a snobbish look on his face. We joked amongst our groups to be careful Before we get in trouble again. It’s a customer service job. If you don’t want to deal with people go get a job behind the scenes but don’t mess up peoples experience bc you’re having a bad day. I’m not one to leave only bad reviews, but when your attitude(customer service) is nasty to people that spend money in your establishment you will get my bad reviews faster than my good review. We were a group of 6 and one person buys the rounds each time. I don’t drink vodka and was ordering for someone else in the group so my mistake to say “Vodka & Tito’s” could have been handled differently. My friend, ordering the beer, was there bc one person can’t deliver 6 drinks. 10-12 cups/bottles in this case since the bottle is separate to the liquor. The gentleman with the horrible customer service on these 2 night was brown, with straight black hair. I think he wore a ball cap in the Eagle that night and his hair was out with a tiny top bun the night he worked at DDs. I hate to be treated a way I wouldn’t treat others & this was by far the worst customer service at a bar that I’ve ever experienced in traveling and visiting bars/restaurants around the world.

The rudest staff. Don’t even try to come in. Update: the “owner” says that if we treat people nice, they will do the same. But, by treating “well” they mean that as long as you walk in (for the first time at least) you are stopped by the rude bartender in front of everyone asking you to buy something to drink “NOW” almost screaming. Once told him that i would love to check out the place first as it was my first time, he says “this is a bar, you have to buy something ‘sweety’” how do you want one to take that? Made me buy a drink just to find out that the music and the place was terrible. Plus he let a group of 10 in without asking them to buy a drink. If you desperately need to get some money in, then just CHARGE A COVER and stop with the rudeness towards tourists. Thank you.

Have been to other cruising bars alone as well as with my partner, this seems to be a new discovery. The vibe is sexy. The staffs are super friendly & welcoming. The place is clean & hygienic & there was plenty of action. Visited yesterday & for some unknown reasons Amsterdam was less crowded & so Eagle. I’m intrigued what might be in store in full season. Excited to be with my partner next time.

Your classic eagle bar experience. A great place for men who are into fetish and other kinks. The location is very central in Amsterdam. And by luck it was 1 minute walking distance from my hotel, what a perfect location. The place is huge and has great decorations. And has a dark room. The drinks were great and the service was quick. The prices were great too.
