The bartender and staff were AMAZING! Very welcoming and welcomed me to Philly from Salt Lake City very nicely!
Always a good time. The bartenders are attentive and make it that much better to be there. Won't be as enjoyable for me since my friend Greg passed away February 17th, 2026. I usually hung with him much of the night at The Bike Stop. He will be missed. Paul S. Heimers
This bar is not safe for women . I was physically assaulted at this bar by a man and the female bartender did nothing. Bike Stop you can’t silence me . Women who come here be aware of your surroundings. They will not protect your safety here.
This is apparently one of the last actual gay bars in the City of Philadelphia. It's fun and friendly. And it's real! They have a pool table which is very cool. But it's the friendly atmosphere and service that makes this place great. If you are visiting from out of town or a resident in the community. Check this place out. I highly recommend The Bike Stop.
A blast from the past, for sure. Though its heyday may have passed it still has the 'dive bar' appeal. I walked in and was instantly transported back to Boston's Sporters and 119 Merrimac of 1978. The bartender was friendly and attentive; a quality sadly lacking in the modern "high class" gay bars. Others have mentioned terrible smells, but I smell pine cleaner. You gotta stop here: if you're like me (64), for the flashback effect, and if you missed the 70/80s, come see what a REAL gay bar looks and feels like.
