The Max

I love The Max! I actually moved away from Omaha and have never found a bar even closely comparable. I tell people about it all the time.

Never a bad time there. Perfect night club, even on non busy nights. Dusty makes the best drinks and is always amazing. Love the outside patio as well

There’s only 2 reasons you should go to The Max. 1. You just want to dance at a club 2. You’re a gay man 30-60 years old looking to cruise for others like you. $10 cover, everything is cash only, it’s incredibly posh, and it felt half empty at 9pm on a Saturday night. The staff weren’t rude but they certainly weren’t nice or friendly or helpful. Oh, and in the 20 minutes I was there the cops showed up. I’ve never seen that at a queer bar here in Omaha, and I over heard staff mention that it’s a regular thing apparently. This place exists for cis gay men and their straight women best friends and that’s fine. But there’s better queer nightlife out here in Omaha that doesn’t feel like a dark, loud, empty hotel lobby.

I found an amazing place with three dance floors, electronic music, and a very lively central bar. The people were friendly. It was a gay bar! I had a great time. I recommend bringing only cash.

Yesterday was the first time my friend and I went there. We loved the vibe and the people everyone was so nice, buying us shots and being friendly in a respectful way. The music was great too! The only thing we didn’t like was the front desk receptionist; he was a bit rude at the beginning. But overall, we had a great time!!!
