We loved exploring this charming queer space, with plenty of books across the genres to browse. A little gay serenity from the hustle and bustle of New York City!
Love the wide selection of queer art and books. It made me feel seen and inspired. This will be a go-to spot anytime I visit NYC. 🤗
UPDATE: SUNDAY, JUNE 4, 2023, 3:32PM: The Bureau of General Services--Queer Division, or "The Bureau," for short, is one the few LGBTQIAPlus bookstores in the United States. There used to be so many more. I LOVE going, for book reading/signing events, art exhibitions, and this weekend for the NYC Queer Comic Fair. The co-owners and all the volunteers have great energy, and are very friendly and approachable regarding obtaining information about books, zines and other Queer literature. I love this place! It is one of the few remaining LGBTQIAPlus bookstores in the United States, and an independent bookseller, to boot. The volunteers are friendly, professional, helpful, and are genuinely enthusiastic about what they do. Also, there are so many literary events that take place there, that offer so many options for those of us who love LGBTQIAPlus literature. I cannot wait to return.
Beautiful place, so cute. Full of gay themes books. From art to history. The employee was very helpful and friendly providing reading material about it's location and the art exposition that was been exposed. Besides selling an extended variety of books they sell art pieces as well. Great place to look for a great new book or art piece. Totally recommend it, lovely place. Got a Tom of Finland book today and I love it. Keep up the good job guys.
