Canvas Lounge

I visited Canvas, an LGBTQ+ bar, with my husband and our dog. Overall, the atmosphere was great and we were really excited to enjoy the night. When I arrived close to 1:00 a.m., I asked a bartender ( Vince) if I could keep my tab open since the bar closes at 2:00 a.m. He told me no and said they were already closing everything down. The way he spoke to me felt rude, and I was honestly surprised since there was still quite some time before closing. Later, I went to another bartender who was very kind and welcoming. He opened my tab and explained that last call would be around 1:45 a.m., which made perfect sense. However, when I came back later, the first bartender was there again and told me they were already done with last call, even though the other bartender had just told me otherwise. That interaction was frustrating and confusing. That said, I do appreciate that he later came outside to talk to me and apologize. I genuinely respect that, and it shows accountability. Because of that, and because the rest of the experience and staff were good, I’m giving Canvas 2 stars. Without the apology, it probably would have been less. I hope the team can work on being more consistent and welcoming with customers, especially those who are visiting from out of town and just want to enjoy the experience.

Popped in after arriving from Atlanta for a few days with a Friend and sat at the bar. Little did I know I’d have the pleasure to meet Che A the bartender. He was so fun and engaging and we totally enjoyed the time we spent there. He’s an awesome guy! Look forward to another visit…

2-19-26 service was excellent me and my Husband who’s 28 and I 23 got a high noon Tell me why a Customer walked up to me and my husband saying our relationship was nasty!!! It’s about 7:40 pm left maybe 5 minutes ago got called nasty and said our relationship was gross and kept calling us nasty ??!?!!! I will never vist this place ever again?! We was minding our business in the lounge area up the stairs talk that was it !!!! Be carful who you let into place because you guys lost 2 customers and the word will be spread! Nobody should have to deal with this! This was supposed to be a safe place!!

Wil is everything. Had such an incredible time at Canvas, and a huge part of that was thanks to Wil. From the moment we walked in, he made the space feel welcoming, fun, and full of good energy. He’s attentive without hovering, friendly without being fake, and somehow manages to make everyone feel seen — which matters so much in queer spaces. Drinks were perfect, vibes were immaculate, and Wil’s personality truly elevated the whole night. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and that energy carries through the entire bar.
