Missie B's

Upscale vibes, but welcoming and friendly staff. This is a 2 story nightclub with several bars, a light-up dance floor with a projector to show music videos, dart boards, disco balls, tables and booths. There is also a 2 story outdoor area with bars. The patio vibes are more intimate as the space is limited. There was a drag show the night I went, but unfortunately I had to leave before it started. All in all, it was my second time at a gay bar and it did not disappoint. The music? Upbeat pop, FUN and exactly as expected. The lighting? Rainbow. Everywhere. Disco balls? You already know. I loved every second of it. Two things you should know before going- this place is CASH ONLY. DO NOT wait until you get inside to get cash, as the ATM fee is $4. Secondly, if you're looking for a place to dance, this is probably it, but you'll likely be dancing alone before 10:30ish. Definitely worth checking out, I will be going back.

We are lucky to have so many gay bars in KC, but honestly, the best place to start or end any night out is always Missie B’s. It’s also our fave place to watch RuPaul’s Drag Race every Friday. We started coming for the show itself, but keep coming back for the hostess with the mostess, Minti Varieties. My only wish is that she’d host more things! There’s truly nothing like some Minti V at Missie B’s!

The Saturday night drag show is AMAZING. Highly recommended. I only drank water, but bottled water was a dollar-VERY reasonable. Heated smoking area and several areas to get drinks.

I am in the dead center of discovering myself at 34, and I started coming here. The first time was such a great experience, even by myself; I finally pushed myself to do it again. Well, I guess I walked in with someone sketchy. Right when I started feeling myself and comfortable, I was asked to come off the dance floor and talk with this short guy. He asked me if I knew the guy who walked in right after me, and please keep in mind I did not know who the hell he was talking about. Overcoming a lot of things and being courageous to go out by myself, as I have no one else, getting singled out with the question of "why did he run off" from one stranger to another makes no sense. I left immediately after tonight not feeling the least bit comfortable because how did he know exactly where I was? More importantly, no damage was done, so why single me out? And make a situation over nothing, and honestly, I didn't know this guy until I was walking behind him. He opened the door for me like a gentleman, and I went in, and he took off running (it is only 38°F in KC right now and raining really cold for the 60°F weather today). People here are awesome, and I may update this review later when I can move beyond that situation tonight. Honestly, I am just shocked they even did this when you could tell on video if someone is together or not... and this was just fishing and that's the weirdest part in my opinion.

visited Missie B’s in Kansas City and overall I wasn’t very impressed, but there were some positives worth mentioning. The place itself is clean and well maintained, and the music was good and fun. The highlight of the night was definitely the bartender — excellent service, friendly, attentive, and professional, which made a big difference. That said, the overall experience didn’t really stand out to me compared to other places. It’s not a bad spot, just not one that left a strong impression. I might give it another try in the future, mainly because of the great service behind the bar.
