The Dunes Resort LGBTQIA+

Stayed at The Dunes for this first time this past weekend. The staff, and the regulars are so friendly. It felt more like a camp ground than a hotel/resort. The food, the drinks, the selection were top tier. The location to Saugatuck, the lake, and other area attractions lent for great adventures. The pool is magnificent and the care and attention from staff is peak. I can't recommend The Dunes enough, and I will be back.

This is a very fun place for locals and visitors! Great bars and a nice pool in the summer. They have activities like Bingo and tea dance as well as themed weekends. Highly recommend.

The gay resort Mecca of the Midwest. Think P-town vibes. Weekends in summer are jammed but even off season it can be busy and fun. Independence weekend is the craziest with thousands of men not only from the Detroit, Chicago and surrounding areas, but now from all across the country. For good or bad, it has become a circuit crowd then in recent years. Labor Day weekend is the second busiest and less hype. The pool is outstanding, the dance floors incredible. Great service from multiple bars, stiff pours, and eye candy aplenty. Adventurous souls can wander the woods - an outdoor dark room on the property. It’s the only gay resort or bar in the lovely twin artsy towns of Saugatuck & Douglas, but there is plenty of shopping, art galleries and great restaurants to keep anyone busy. Nearby Oval Beach is consistently ranked the best in the Midwest.

The Dunes is by far my favorite gay bar! Just a quick drive from Grand Rapids Airport, I come in often just to be included in this welcoming and warm community! The bartenders are spot on with drinks and literally always provide great service. My favorite Sundays are spent with Peaches and her Drag Bingo. Last night I enjoyed the dancers at the bar and made a couple new friends from all over the US. The rooms are kept clean and the housekeeping team is amazing to interact with! The front desk staff are super helpful and the store is stocked with whatever you need! Small town Saugatuck and the Dunes are the perfect weekend getaway for me!!

Finally made it out the group chat and made our way to The Dunes. No amount of research could've prepared me for the best summer weekend getaway. All the reviews of the location are accurate. But nothing prepared me for the sense of community they're building out there. We went for Xmas in July some guest brought cookies and jello shots to share our neighbors even decorated. Didn't run into a single bad attitude every single person from staff and guest were just so friendly. I jokingly told my friend that if I have to introduce myself one more time ill scream but i couldn't help it! I like meeting people! On night two these two guys asked if they could sit next to us and they did and we all got along so well we ended up hanging out with them all weekend they are now apart of the group chat.
