If your a friend of Dorothy, then this place is a gem 💎 in the eastbay. Great venue and feels like cheers. Very welcoming crowd and regulars. The entire staff is fantastic. Good line up of weekly entertainment as well. Current owners really have put their heart and soul into this place and it shows. Very grateful for this watering hole.

Try to support but the music seems like not getting better after a while. If you not good at decorations try to have a good taste. Bad taste on a Saturday night! 👎🏻 Ps: DJ don’t really care if there are people on the floor dacing or not. Lady dj you might need an upgrade and learn how to connect between songs✌🏻 Maybe try to make more connections with the dance floor 🎤

Went to 1220 for the first time in a long time last night which was a Friday around midnight and let me tell you DJ Ellis sure knows how to clear a dance floor!! He played an awful selection of music and his transitions from song to song was rough, people would literally stop dancing because we had to wait for the next song to play and he refused to take any music requests that my party knew would get people back on the dance floor. The floor was really sticky even the dance floor. The security guard was rude and just looked like he was in a bad mood. The host in the front was more into his poker game on his phone then interacting with us when we walked in, he wasn’t very inviting but he didn’t mind taking our money, $8 cover charge was not worth it. This used to be my favorite place and now it’s my least favorite, I’ll never go back!!

I'm sure it is probably good on a busy night or a cool drag show/dj etc but going there on a slow night it was a little sleepy and the staff wasn't the friendliest or most attentive ☹️ Maybe will try again a different night and see but so far it's probably a no from me sadly.
