Hello Bulldogs bar Mgr. Tonight I've experienced harassment and discrimination based on my current disability. I approached the Bulldogs building to enter and was very disrespected by the security guard at the door. He was touching my ID with his gloves and harassed me for having my ID upside down. My error, however he continued to harass me for choosing to hold my id in a firm manner. I informed him politely I don't like people touching my card especially with them gloves for numerous reasons. I don't need to discuss my disability to him which is personal. Once I passed the security process to pay my cover fee, the black male security continued harassing me about "my attitude". I directly but politely told him he's being very rude to me. He told the guy at the register not to accept my money and wouldn't let me in the bar. This is harassment and discrimination! It was a humiliating experience! If this is how customers are treated I will never come back here again. This incident took place at approx. 11:05pm Monday night.
Have not been out in years. Met some really cool ppl. Had a ball. Did not try food so I cant comment. The middle bar tender with the bald head likes to stick his fingers inside ppls cups which I did not find very sanitary. The dance floor was super sticky. My 1st thought was not of a pure nature, but im sure it was liquor....lmao We got there super early as we came from a open Mic night so there was no music playing outside until later. One of the single stalls the latch worked but didnt have anything to latch onto....so I was just waiting to be walked in on, even though I would not have cared lol we left around 1am and got there around 9pm. It was an amazing night. Will definitely return. Drinks are reasonable.
Being a patron of Bulldogs really emphasizes the name. It reminds me that we live in a dog eats dog world and that I am ultimately prey in a world of predators. But running into Queens like the one I’m photographed with, bartenders who make refreshing ice waters, or meeting other special friends, makes existing in this space beautiful and soft. When I walk in here, there are people who embrace me, welcome me, adore me, and let me know I belong. And then there are others who ice me out before I even get through the metal detector. From spectating spades matches, meeting former models, authors, and makeup artists who have done the work I am doing today, enjoying a drink here and there, then and now, or simply displaying my latest outfit, I am honored to be welcomed by such a Queen. One who never tears me down but only lifts me up. And I think that’s the point. Even when I frequent here out of proximity and get shunned for it by some of our older gay peers in our community, I still shine. I have to hold my head higher than the passive aggressiveness from those I look to for guidance. May the younger gay men who come to Bulldogs for the ultimate gay Atlanta experience have the privilege of meeting Queens like Oriana, who will remind you of your worth and teach you to hold your smile high in the face of opposition. And through my spontaneous bar trips here, I pray to God I continue to meet men who will uplift me and not tear me down.
A friendly Gay bar located in midtown. It is hard to find parking. It's best to take the bus or use a rideshare app. The best food to eat is the baby back ribs. The French Fries had alot of salt on them. The price for a drink was reasonable. I recommend a cape cod as a drink to get when at Bulldogs. Overall, I had alot of fun at this bar with my female friend.
Drinks were strong and definitely worth the money, even though it took a while to get the bartender’s attention. This place used to be one of my faves, and the crowd has definitely changed a bit so the vibe feels different than it used to. Still though, it was a fun time and I’d go back.
