What the community says

I wouldn’t recommend this place. We had a really unpleasant experience with one of the bartenders named Todd I guess. I was there with friends playing pool when a friend of mine stopped by just to say hello. At some point, the bartender approached and said he was kicking her out because she supposedly didn’t want to show her ID. She actually had a valid ID and is of legal age, she wasn’t refusing, he was just rude about it, and she chose to leave. Later, when I stepped outside for a smoke, another friend told me she was refused service (a cider) even after showing her ID. We all had valid identification, so it felt like the situation was taken personally by the staff. Not long after, we were all asked to leave for reasons that were never clearly explained. I wasn’t even inside at that moment. I was told outside that our group had been kicked out and effectively blacklisted. I’ve never experienced anything like this before, especially since I’m generally polite and respectful. I used to come here quite often, but I have no desire to return while staff behave this way. We tried to show our IDs, we are regulars here, every single person in our group was ready to show their ID, but the bartender just refused to take it and implied that we had underage people in our group. Everyone was of age, had their ID and was ready to show it. Does it look like fair treatment to you?

Mad Pub is a staple and one of the only chill and fun bars on the hill. Great place to start the night or end it with a night cap. The staff is all very friendly and the drinks are well priced compared to other spots like Massive or The Cuff. The cherry on top is the beanie baby claw machine that actually lets you win unlike any of those crappy claw machines in a grocery store or arcade. Nothings a better conversation starter than a cute stuffed friend to compliment your fit for the night!

We came in chill, respectful, just in a good mood trying to enjoy ourselves—cracked a couple light jokes, nothing crazy—and the vibe from the staff was just… off. Super uninterested, no engagement, like they really didn’t want to be there or interact at all.
